In just a few months I’m back to my slim self despite having crossed the 45 year mark.I’m never hungry. My friends have no idea how I eat so much, exercise so little, and stay so slim. My LDL cholesterol also fell 100 points!
Carrie started her career as one of the best pastry chefs in England. She also started her life as a naturally thin person. She could enjoy all the inSANE treats she liked while staying slim and without even thinking about joining a gym.
Then she hit her late thirties. Nothing about her lifestyle changed, but her body did. She watched in horror as the same body that had automatically kept her slim for over three decades became her enemy.
Now I know that just like everyone else’s, my hormones and set-point were changing with age. But, I had no idea about this at the time and got depressed. My worst moment involved a trip to the doctor.
I visited my doctor to get help with my weight issues. My doctor told me to drink only weight loss shakes and exercise as much as possible for two weeks. He said this would prove that I could control my weight. What followed were two horrible weeks. I was able to “find” 15 hours per week to exercise, but they came at the expense of relationships and my career. I was constantly hungry, tired, and in a mental fog. You can imagine how that impacted my personal and professional life. But, doctors know best.
After two weeks of misery, I went back to my doctor and hit an all-time low when I found out my weight hadn’t changed at all. I fired my doctor and started to look for alternatives.
SANE eating appealed to me because it was diverse enough that I could continue to make delicious dishes, and it was food friendly enough that I could swear off hunger forever. Smarter exercise was a no brainer, as anything more than 30 minutes of exercise per week simply doesn’t work with my schedule.
In just a few months I’m back to my slim self despite having crossed the 40 year mark. I’m still creating culinary treats with simple SANE substitutions. I’m never hungry. My friends have no idea how I eat so much, exercise so little, and stay so slim. My LDL cholesterol also fell 100 points.
I’m now dedicating a large part of my life to sharing delicious SANE dishes with everyone I can. I know first-hand that eating lots of delicious food and being healthy and slim doesn’t have to be an either/or decision. I know that not eating and doing a lot of exercise “works” for some people, but I’m not one of them.
PS Carrie has since gone from a size 8 to a size 2 (the same size she wore 30 years ago!). Learn how below.
